Of geometric design, centring on a baroque-shaped natural freshwater pearl, set upon a rectangular amethyst platform, flanked to either side by graduated steps of alternating polished platinum and baguette-shaped amethyst, circa 1927. Measuring 4.7cm x 2.3cm. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Francoise Cailles.
Note: The 'Clou' design is one of Maison Boivin's most iconic designs, appearing in many variations. It is a classic example of the Boivin style, adding their own touch to an otherwise obviously Art Deco design by using amethyst and a coloured pearl in a period when diamonds were exalted and pearls preferably white and round.
