The diminutive carnelian plaque engraved with the bust of young Hercules in profile, inclined to the right, with his club in the background, in the manner of the Ancient Greek engraver Gnaios, within a gold surround with traces of bronze, circa 1st Century A.D. Dimensions 6 x 8 x 2 mm, later mounted onto a gently tapering gold shank.
