THEODOROS

Designed as a series of titanium beads, embellished at regular intervals with blacked rondelles set with circular-cut tsavorite garnets, suspending a cut-corner rectangular-shaped peridot weighing 65.30 carats, surmounted by a half-moon shaped diamond weighing 2.01 carats, to a hook and loop clasp set with tzavorite garnets, signed Theodoros. Length of necklace 85 cm. Total weight of necklace 93.74 grams.
The shimmering patinas that glide through a rainbow of hues as they catches the light have afforded titanium a loyal following… not to mention the signature featherweight lightness that makes larger pieces like this necklace an effortless endeavour.
Theodoros’ choice of alloy here gives this necklace an ironically organic feel. The stone’s surroundings feel symbiotic, echoing the relationship between a beetle’s iridescent protective wings enclosing around its precious body, it is hard to imagine these two elements were not formed in unison and grew into this shape.
Again, far from the homogeny of manufacture, Theodoros has given the titanium beads the subtle variation in shapes that you would find in nature. If they weren’t cool to the touch you might imagine a string of pearls created by an unidentified mollusk.
Coupled with the enthusiastic flashes from the Tsavorite garnet rondelles, this symphony of greens is of course but a generous accompaniment to the resounding peridot chorus at the centre…whose nobility in depth and quality of colour is announced with a diamond crown.
The perfect ode to August’s birthstone…
